Blue Cross Blue Shield plans frequently include nutrition counseling coverage.

🩵 Aetna
In-Network Provider
Aetna plans commonly cover nutrition counseling under Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) or preventive services.
Most plans include 3–12 visits per year
Many clients have little to no out-of-pocket cost
Coverage depends on diagnosis and plan details
🟢 TennCare – WellPoint
In-Network beginning February 15
TennCare (WellPoint) covers nutrition counseling for eligible medical conditions, which may include:
Diabetes
Malnourishment (children and adults)
Obesity and weight-related conditions
Other medically necessary nutrition diagnoses
A referral may be required
Visit limits vary by diagnosis and plan
Services must be deemed medically necessary

💙 Medicare
In-Network (Eligibility Required)
Medicare covers Medical Nutrition Therapy only for individuals diagnosed with:
Diabetes
Kidney disease (non-dialysis)
Important notes:
A doctor’s referral is required
Visits must relate to the qualifying diagnosis

💳 Self-Pay & Payment Plans
For clients without insurance coverage or who prefer to self-pay:
$40 for a 75-minute session
Payment plans available
