In-Network Provider
UnitedHealthcare frequently offers strong coverage for nutrition counseling and preventive care.
Many plans allow 12–24 visits per year

In-Network Provider
TennCare (Wellpoint) covers nutrition counseling for eligible diagnoses, which may include:
Diabetes
Malnourishment in children and adults
Obesity and weight-related conditions
Other medical conditions requiring nutrition intervention
Coverage Details:
A referral is sometimes required
Visit limits and coverage vary by diagnosis and plan
Services must be deemed necessary

🔵 Blue Cross Blue Shield
In-Network Provider
Blue Cross Blue Shield plans often include coverage for nutrition counseling and preventive services.
Coverage may range from 3–12 visits per year

Preventive visits may be fully covered depending on the policy

In-Network Provider
Aetna plans often cover nutrition counseling under “Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)” or “Preventive Nutrition Counseling.”
Most plans include 3–6 covered visits per year with little or no out-of-pocket cost.
Coverage can vary depending on your specific policy and diagnosis codes.

💙 Medicare
In-Network (With Physician Referral)
Medicare covers Medical Nutrition Therapy only for individuals diagnosed with:
Diabetes, or
Kidney disease (non-dialysis)
Important Notes:
A doctor’s referral is required for coverage.
Sessions must be related to your qualifying condition.
If you’re unsure whether you qualify, I can guide you through the process and coordinate with your provider’s office.
💳 Self-Pay & Payment Plans
For clients without Aetna or Medicare coverage, I offer affordable self-pay options.
$40 per 75-minute session
Payment plans available for flexible budgeting
All clients receive personalized handouts and nutrition education materials after each session
