🌞 Insurance & Coverage
At Sunny Side Nutrition & Wellness, I believe everyone deserves access to quality nutrition care. I’m continuously expanding my insurance partnerships — check back often as new plans are added!
(Currently awaiting approval from Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare.)
Below you’ll find details about my current accepted insurance plans and self-pay options.
🩵 Aetna
In-Network Provider
Aetna plans often cover nutrition counseling under “Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)” or “Preventive Nutrition Counseling.”
Most plans include 3–6 covered visits per year with little or no out-of-pocket cost.
Coverage can vary depending on your specific policy and diagnosis codes.
How to Verify Your Benefits:
Call the member number on your insurance card and ask:
“Does my plan cover nutrition counseling or Medical Nutrition Therapy?”
“Do I need a referral or prior authorization?”
“How many visits per year are covered?”
If you’d like help checking your benefits, I’m happy to assist — just reach out using the Contact form.
💙 Medicare
In-Network (With Physician Referral)
Medicare covers Medical Nutrition Therapy only for individuals diagnosed with:
Diabetes, or
Kidney disease (non-dialysis)
Important Notes:
A doctor’s referral is required for coverage.
Sessions must be related to your qualifying condition.
If you’re unsure whether you qualify, I can guide you through the process and coordinate with your provider’s office.
